What have we learned about the 2006 Mid-Term Elections?
America is still a Conservative (not Republican) nation, just look at who won the races and the state-based issues.
1. Republicans that act pansy and stay silent on Conservative values (low taxes, low spending, fiscal restraint, no amnesty for illegal aliens, etc) will lose. It was proven in Virginia in 2005 when Jerry Kilgore got his head handed to him because he acted like a RINO while his opponent, current Gov’nor Tim Kaine, kept quiet about his views and downplayed his history of left-leaning atitudes.
Conservatism wins elections when tried. Being a fake loses elections, flat out.
2. Gay marriage amendments lost in four states out of five (except Arizona)
3. Conservative Democrats were elected in the South, Heath Shuler.
4. RINOs like Lincoln Chaffee were voted out (Thank God!)
5. The American people aren’t against the Troops or the Iraq War, they’re against an apparent stalemate in the War in Iraq. They want some progress and gave GWB four years to show enough progress to warrant another session of Republican rule.
6. The Republican and Independent voters had enough of the high spending and bloated GOP Congress that lost its way from the honored Contract with America.
7. Now the Dems must put up or shut up when they said they could do a better job and be less corrupt than the GOP. It’s the Dems time to prove themselves or be thrown back to the wolves like the GOP.
The 2006 Mid-Term Elections were chemotheraphy for the GOP to root out the cancer known as Country Club Republican RINOs who will sell us out, including President Bush’s high spending and amnesty plan for illegal aliens.
There is no substitute for victory, and I would’ve preferred Republicans winning again, but the sooner we take this as a loss the sooner we can remake the Republican Party back into the Conservative Party like Ronald Reagan.
